Established in 1997 at Steeprock Joinery, Atlas Arckology continues to operate from its original facility and headquarters. Situated atop a stunning 69-acre red rock bluff overlooking the town of Sawpit, on a private road. The location offers a serene and inspiring setting for creatives from diverse fields. Our comprehensive workshop and workspace not only provide a space for artists and collaborators to create but also to rest, dine, socialize, and showcase their work. We cater to residents' needs by offering a wide range of tools, materials, and amenities, including a fully equipped wood working shop, a blacksmithing metal forge, spacious studio space, and comfortable living quarters.
Our revolving door of creatives includes neuroscientists, bio chemists, machinists, painters, sculptors/fabricators, woodworkers, singer songwriters, photographers and film writers, journalists, think tanks, and beyond.
Our off-grid environment serves as a living museum of limitless exploration, where unconventional ideas thrive and history is ever-present. Our living walls symbolize the interconnectedness of nature and art, fostering a sustainable and vibrant ecosystem that inspires creativity and imagination.
